The CB MercuRay™ Maxillofacial Imaging system is a revolutionary new imaging technology that applies digital ConeBeam x-ray to the facial region a for complete visualization of the patient. This digital x-ray scanner rotates around the patient’s head 360? in just 20 seconds, providing 2D images and 3D volume reconstructions for treatment planning and diagnostic support.
One quick scan allows us to generate an image of the patient ranging from a cross-sectional slice through a single tooth to a 3D volume of the patient skull. This system allows us to provide our patients with cutting edge technology with reduced radiation exposure that is associated with traditional CT scans. This technology allows us to provide a more accurate treatment plan and more predictable treatment outcomes.
These images and views facilitate the evaluation of:
- Difficult or hard-to-see pathologies
- Critical bone and soft tissue relationships
- Spatial relationships of teeth to critical anatomy such as the maxillary sinus and mandibular canal
- Oral and nasal airways and paranasal sinuses
- Any area of the skull or soft tissue
