Dr. Erik Mangelson

Growing up in Salt Lake City, Dr. Mangelson attended the University of Utah, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Kinesiology and earned departmental honors.

Dr. Mangelson continued his academic excellence at the University of Utah School of Dentistry, where he graduated first in his class with a perfect 4.0 GPA and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society. He was also recognized with top student awards from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for his outstanding achievements in oral surgery.

He completed his advanced oral and maxillofacial surgery at
the University of Iowa, where he gained extensive experience in IV sedation, complex tooth extractions, dental implants, oral pathology, facial trauma, and corrective jaw surgery. His surgical training emphasized both technical excellence and compassionate patient care—qualities that continue to define his approach today.

Outside the office, Dr. Mangelson enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, cheering on his favorite sports teams, and taking advantage of every opportunity to be outdoors. As a Utah native, he’s excited to head a little farther west and is honored to serve the Billings community.
